I am included (another shameless confession!)

Kota Kinabalu, Sabah was choosing to host the most coveted event of the year, Malaysian film industries, Festival Filem Malaysia 22.

And me, nothing but a tiny blogger with an ego as high as Mount Kinabalu was invited to witness the best of film art and in my case it is the art of what are they wearing (and what are the hell are they thinking?)

In a bid to get as much attention as I can, I try to dress like a celebrity. It’s a trench coat with studs. It works! I was mistakenly regards as an artist! Like when I reach the entrance, they direct me to the nomination seat and some ask ‘are you an artist? I wonder from which film? Takkan “Anu Dalam Botol” kut…..

These are interesting facts about FFM 22.

1. I am quite impressed with the gigantic Dewan Canselor, Universiti Malaysia Sabah. It is big (space up to 5000 paxs) with magnificent architecture! But for the VIP area, there are only two or three toilets available. It’s a long queue indeed. Among those who join the queue with me are Best Male Supporting Actor nominee Shaheizy Sam, David Teoh and a few prominent Datos…

2. Nancy Teoh almost trip on stage while walking on her beautiful Innai dress.

3. During the award presentation with Hans Isaac, Juliana Evans said she likes Sabah because of the islands and lush green forest but she also claims that she doesn’t have the opportunity to visit. I can hear someone said “how she knows if she never went to all those places? Maybe she reads something from the flyers!”

4. The crowd went crazy with Upin and Ipin.

5. Awie has huge followers in Saba. Crowd went crazy when he starts to sing…

6. Sabah sweetheart; Stacy get the most claps…

7. It’s a still and quiet moment when Yasmin sister; Orked delivered her speech on behalf of Allahyarham Yasmin Ahmad who won the Best Director Award for Talentime.

8. Yasmin Ahmad mom,Mak Inom looks fragile and deeply in a state of agony throughout award ceremony. Sabar Mak Inom, semoga Allah mencucuri rahmat ke atas arwah. Amin.

9. Non Malay actresses prefer Malay costumes. Just ask Kavita Kaur and Jaclyn Victor.

10. Some wonder why the award like Artis Harapan that goes to Jaclyn Victor and Zahiril Adzim was announced on the opening ceremony that was held at One Borneo Shopping Complex a few days earlier. It is quite an important award though. My view, it should be announced on the award night. If it’s due to live telecast time, it can be announced during the commercial break.

11. Best time management award should go to this organizer. Everyone and everything is on time. Unlike other award ceremony, the artists always fashionably late. But not this time … it was so magical!

12. Buses were used to transfer the celebrities from the hotel to Dewan Canselor. Who need limo?

13. The food, accommodation and transportation were fully sponsored from the very first day we arrived. Thank you Sabah!
