Realizing the fact that many talented young designers are facing with limited opportunity to promote and introduce their designs, Miss Baizura Tazri determined to create a stage and platform for them to showcase their designs. With her years of experience working & managing major entertainment events, fashion shows and added with her passion towards glamorous and creative fashion designs, she introduces YODA to Malaysia.

Her brainchild, YODA which stands for Young Designer’s Arena was introduced to Malaysia with helps from her fellow friends who are also involves in fashion and entertainment industry, she embark a new challenge to introduce & promote YODA to the fullest. Her aim is not to challenge anyone or any organization but merely to provide the up and coming designers a platform to publish their creativity and at the same time to add glitters to our glorious fashion industry.

She welcomed college students and also young designers who already have at least a few designs in hand to showcase their fruit of creativity through YODA because she believe that these young designers are so much anticipated in creating fresh, creative & stylish designs that will inspires the fashion of tomorrow.

To her expectation, more than 50 designers grab this opportunity and share their excitement to participate in YODA. After the screening process, 12 designers are chosen and given opportunity to showcase their designs in YODA’s first ever fashion show under Young Designers Slot on the 03^rd Dec 2009 at The Boiler Room, Sri Hartamas, Kuala Lumpur. The 1 day event will be future runway fashion show, entertainment, cocktail and networking parties creating one of a kind opportunity for participating designers, sponsors and guests.

With theme “Urban Chique” YODA’s first fashion show are expected to explode the fashion wave in a whole new dimension. The show is going to feature 12 young designers namely Niza Masbar, Ferris Hafizi, Alia Zain, Farlez, Bella, Ku Mann, Syida Rosihan, Lucas Blim, Diana Azmi, Kent Khalil, RD Idewani and Anizam Yusof. 5 fashion schools namely KLMU represent by Suhaini Marlina, Equator represent by Raymod Goh, IFTC by Najib Salman, Alvina Krishnan, Joanne Chan, Intan Maisarah, Kenneth Lim, Jack Seon, SML represent by Alexis Saw and Young and MIA represent by Alex Yap are also going to showcase their student’s best designs and the highlight of the show will be the fashion art presentation from 3 faces of YODA, Jasmi Rejab, Nik Erwan and Rico Rinaldi.

The guest will be entertained by the winner of HitzFM chart, Kraft and the up and coming singers, Yami & Lisa who will be featuring a number of hit songs that will compliment the “Urban Chique” theme.
