I think she is a celebrity now, so she must carry only designer stuff like Gucci Large Hysteria bag. I think it is a patent leather because it is a bit shiny in the photo. I am not a big fan of Gucci hysteria especially something like this printed signature. I will give a consolation for basic black hysteria. Maybe Ekin would consider getting this, it is only USD1,895. She is rich now; she can buy everything she wants.

If I can’t make it to the store, a ‘look’ at a corner in departmental store where they put MK on display will be enough.  A visit will not be complete without a visit to one of the most prominent designer in America. He may be a bit sarcastic in Project Runway, but who cares? He designs great bag!

MK prominent can be seen in Skorpios leather hobo. It is clean, flawless design. Nothing new about the design but nevertheless it has a very sexy touch in hobo department.

The element of hobo is on the shape and the braided leather shoulder strap. I am not sure if the shoulder strap is comfortable because I owned a braided shoulder bag and it is quite not comfortable to my shoulder at first. It is like your brand new shoes, you are not comfortable it at first, but it is getting better by time.

But as you get along and wear it on your shoulder on a daily basis, your shoulder will tolerate with the braided structure. Believe me.

What is the first thing you see when you look at the above Chloe Heloise?

I might think most of you would say the two pleated straps. Some might think this is a terrible looking straps or the straps destroy the bag. Me too. I think the pleated straps looks a bit weird but when it pairs with Celine top, Les Chiffoniers leggings, Christian Louboutin pumps and a Chloé blazer  Chloe Heloise with pleated straps looks stunning and outstanding. That why we need to match our bag with a right outfit.

The art of mix and match is equally important. We must know how the art of choosing the right bag to go with what inside our closet.  It is a very easy thing to do if you watch 4 simple steps; and if you an avid follower of my blog,  you may actually already did it.

1.     Watch your purse.

Let it be your dreams. LV is super-luxury but does this goes really in with your social circle? Let’s face it, most of us only comfortable mixing up with our own class. If your day job is a processing clerk in a factory with 15 workforces you are not going to rub shoulder with socialites in Gucci dress at a cocktail party at night right? Yes… maybe once in a year you attend an extravagant dinner and I am so agree with the term ‘invest in a one classic designer bag’  but is it worth to buy LV montaigne but the very next month you’ll ‘busy’ ignoring the phone calls from ‘priceless Mastercard’ (I’ve experienced that!).

Why not you settle with something like Cole Haan Lila? It is simple, cute, and affordable and can match on almost anything in your closet. It maybe not as great as LV montaigne but it is a designer bag and it is legal and original. 

Worst, with your salary and status people will think that your LV maintaigne is a fake.  That is a harsh reality.

2. Watch your waistlineWhat waistline got to do with your bag? it is everything. A bag will look so visible with your friend but might look invisible with you. If you are short and petite, you should forget the big huge bag like Yves Saint Laurent downtown tote. You’ll look like one of the seven dwarfs carrying a provision from the nearest wood for Snow White.  The Olsen is petite and she looks great carrying a huge bag! Yes, she looks great but they are the richest twin on earth. They have like a six  stylists to help them choose what they might carry. But, sometimes (actually a lot of time) critics were so harsh to them and they always end up on the top of worst dress of the week. They are someone and you we no one; so again, please wake up and follow the rules. There is no good to you if you want to ‘create’ your own style but at the same time your office secret crush finally admitted that tea lady look more presentable than you.

Most of your shirt comes from a store called XXL for Big Girl, you must forget tiny Chanel black quilted patent leather wristlet clutch. It is cute but if it the USD1,080 clutch look invisible in you, what is the purpose of carrying the clutch? Find something that can fit your size like white Jimmy Choo Zulu soft clutch. Don’t afraid with white because white clutch will not make you fat!

3. Watch your career, age and personality

We are born with different personality. It is wrong to be something that is not you. She can claim that she has a split personality and we praise her for that but if you claims that you have a split personality, some of you friends might suggest you to see a psychiatrist.

We are not born to be a superstar.  Buying a bag (especially an expensive one) is an investment. You will change your shirt everyday but you’ll probably carry the same bag almost every day. Try to get something that is versatile. I must say that black is the most flexible colour. If buying bag seems so rare  (which I think most likely not you) , make sure that you have at least a basic purse like

All I want is a bottle of mineral water but I end up with four backpacks.

In this economic crunch, everybody seems to be aware about their spending; including me. I am really aware; of course. That is why I bought four.

Last week I am most popular tourist spot in the island known as Pearl Of the Orient, Penang on a strictly business trip!

 But after ‘check in’ in the hotel room and unload my thing, I realized that I forgot the most essential elements, shaver and mineral water. So I put on my Padini hoodie, Levi’s and Ipanema flip flop and Guess vogue tote ( a most ridiculous match, but it is forgiven since I am in a free and easy island ) and head to the nearest 24/7 grocery (not 7/11 but Happy Mart; it’s everywhere here!). But on the way to the Happy Mart, I came across a poster with very familiar and irresistible words, 50% NATIONWIDE DISCOUNT! Before I knew it, I am in Body Glove!

This brand means a lot to me. Something that I used to really attached with. It was end of 90’s and early 2000’s and me as a young executive in Penang with minimum pay. I love Armani or Calvin Klein but more than half of my pay went to second hand car installment and maintenance. The rest of my pay is for petrol, food and a very tiny portion left to buy miscellaneous stuff. During that period, even Adidas seems really expensive!

But as an ‘aspiring stylenista’, I must wear and carry something branded, cheap, hip and young! One of brand that offered this is BodyGlove. I remember my collections of Body Glove slim tight fit tees (considered cool in during 90’s), cargo’s pants and a messenger bag which I keep slinging for almost 365 days a year. I don’t know where it’s gone, maybe somewhere in my parents house.

A quick info about Body Glove. It was founded by Bill and Bob Meistrell in 1953 to serve the watersport enthusiast needs. It is more than half a century and today, still maintaining the same concept, its still stand tall with other brand and offered very affordable and even cheap apparel.

Cheap is one the strong reason why I bought four BodyGlove Backpack; three Theidas and a Staby. As I mentioned before, I am not planning to buy anything but it is cost only RM39 (or around USD10). A very economically-friendly bags!

It is made from canvas with a big compartment on the front side. and I’m bet friendly on your back and shoulder!  It is simple and the colour just quite inviting. If I didn’t get any, I can’t leave this island. So on the way to Happy Mart and in less than 15 minutes in BodyGlove, I grab four BodyGloves!

I don’t really know what I am going to do with these four backpacks. BodyGlove is very stylish and hip but something telling me this is not my brand now. But I still strongly suggest for you visit BodyGlove for a young, active wear.

Now, the four still lying on my jati chair, I am still thinking what I am going to do with them. Perhaps as a souvenir for my super young brother and cousins when I come to visit them. Don’t know when, but one thing for sure, I know they will be more than happy!

If you are looking for quality, you have to pay the price. If you’re rich, price is nothing and why most people with money that I know (especially those 30 and above) owned Salvatore Ferragamo. I’ve been to SV clearance sale but looking at discounted price shirts, this is certainly not my brand. I didn’t say that it is hideous or ugly but it just not me, it is a bit ‘serious’. But I am a bit interested about the F80 collection.

I admit I am always anticipating on what next from Dior. Everything from Dior seems so irrelevant on the catwalk but it all change after a few days. People run to get the dresses and bags. Men or women. That is so magical. It’s like I’d said that model in Dior looks freak but after few days I am trying so hard to copy the look! I am not the one who copying the look, other designers did the same thing!

Diorita is something that I would say not too freaky but not too normal too. The shape looks quite weird, I still figure how it will stand on it own. The whole body is made from twisted woven smooth grained and metallic leather. That’s made the whole character of Diorita. The grained made the bag. If other designers use the same material for a bag, it is hard to say if it is work or not. Call me biased, but I am so totally affected with the dangling ‘D’.

A woman who managed to carry the bag flawlessly is a woman who knows really well the art of having sushi for main course and crème bruelle for dessert. She is not a typical woman next door. She knows fashion, and she is fashion.

I read a prediction from a fashion psychic that the era of big bag is going to over really soon. I don’t think it should over because if it is over, where we are going to put our cellphone, wallet and shopping stuffs at one go? It is so unfashionable to carry plastic bag so the only solution (for the time being) is large tote.

Some goes overboard until it makes me wondering what are they going to carry in that…4 year old boy? Or some totally obsessed with oversized tote and carry it while in evening dress to black tie event! Stop it or other might think that you are going to pack the leftover!

For those who are under big tote syndrome I understand it is not easy to ditch the bag. It must be done carefully. For start, I would like to suggest the big Y with wrist strap. The size is reasonable for your cash, credit cards, car key and cellphone. The shape and design can easily blend with your LBD and black heels. It is made from satin so it is so ‘evening friendly’.
